Desert Rose is native to Africa, the Middle East and Madagascar. With it's thick, succulent trunk, called a caudex, and showy flowers, it's a favorite among plant enthusiasts and is often used as bonsai. It loves bright light and can tolerate direct sun when properly acclimated to the oudoors.  Desert Roses are drought tolerant and store water in their caudex. They do best in well draining soils and are perfect for rock gardens and container gardens. This slow growing,  low maintenance plant is a sure conversational piece and also makes a great gift.
